He let the dogs out

Calypso entertainer Anslem Douglas is the guy who let the dogs out. He’s NOT in the Baha Men, but wrote the song they covered and he’s a favourite of the Caribbean carnival crowd, striking pay dirt in 2000 with Who Let The Dogs Out, a song that hit so big it won a Grammy. It was written for the 1998 Calypso Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago. “Back in 1996, some men in Trinidad and Tobago took to calling women a bad name. I didn’t like it, so I wrote the song about what dogs those men are for the ladies.” He moved to Whitby, his wife Sharon’s hometown.
